From the "Where Are They Now" File....

The Pretty Green - Panachecake/Emma Peel Sessions (Lemon Jellow Records, © 1991, 1993, 2006)

For all you ravers who like USDA prime cuts and don't mind playing a CD in the car that no one will recognize, we are back with yet another installment of "Classic Albums You've Never Heard Of". This week we give you, out of the musical mineral baths of the Motor City.... Ladies and Gentlemen, THE PRETTY GREEN. These boys hail from Warren, a middle class suburban enclave nestled just north the "D". This CD recorded in various basements, bathrooms, low-class beer bistros and semi-pro studios around town consists of 2 individual EPs originally released in the early 1990s. It is equal parts english power pop, punk, motown, overdrive guitar and midwestern machismo. If you like it, word on the street is they might be dragging their fresh sound (and their aging bodies) back in the studio after a nearly 20 year hiatus. The link will be up temporarily so get while the gettin' is good!
